WARRANTY

Refinishing Rabbit does hereby guarantee the new finish on all complete resurfacing of fiberglass, porcelain, and tile surfaces, against all defects of workmanship and materials for the period of 5 years from the date of completion shown hereon for owned properties, and 2 years for rental properties. Refinished floors and concrete carry a 2 year warranty, due to heavy foot traffic.

NOTE: THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO PLASTIC/ACRYLIC TUBS, AS FINISH WILL NOT ADHERE LONG TERM. WARRANTY TERM AS DESCRIBED ABOVE ONLY APPLIES TO ANY REPAIRS DONE. AND AS AN FYI, EXCESSIVE HOT WATER WILL DAMAGE THE FINISH FASTER!

Any issues that occur must be reported immediately, or this warranty will become null and void.

This guarantee is against the natural peeling, or cracking of the finish, but does not cover chipping from an object being dropped onto the finish, or knocked up against it, hot items being placed directly onto the finish (i.e., hot pans directly from stove, curling iron) chemical burns of any kind, and peeling or chipping from surrounding work being by others, such as plumbing work, painting work and the use of painters tape or masking paper to mask off the refinished surfaces, standing on/against the refinished surfaces, etc. If the surface does require a touch-up or redo, and falls under the limits of this guarantee, all work and materials will be supplied at no cost. We also cannot control dust being natural present on surrounding surfaces and in the air, and any such dust landing on the still wet finish may be noticeable depending on the extent of said dust. Dried dust particles will typically diminish over time with use, or alternatively, light polishing is an option, but not free of charge.

Please be aware that refinishing cannot and will not cover or control imperfections (small cracks, holes) that organically exist in natural stones, such as Quartz, Marble, Granite, and CaesarStone. We are unable to fill in or cover such imperfections, as there are normally far too many of them, and are more often than not unseen to the naked eye, until coating is applied. Any major and obvious defects such as larger cracks or divets will be repaired prior to refinishing of course.

Rust breaking through enamel of a cast iron/metal tub or sink will also break through refinished coating, at some point. There is no way to prevent this, and thus this is not covered under the warranty.

Cracks that occur to the finish between tub and/or shower pan and surrounding walls are due to movement in the ground, causing the caulking applied to shift as well. It can also occur when it’s wet or damp behind the walls. As this is out of our control, it is not covered under the warranty. The way to address this would simply be to either apply grout in the seams or (since grout will not match the refinished surfaces in color) apply gloss white silicone instead. We suggest using DAP gloss white waterproof silicone, as this color matches the gloss white coating that would have been used to refinish.

Please do not use bath mats with suction cups or chairs in tubs/showers. Please report any peeling or cracks to Refinishing Rabbit immediately. If grout lines between tiles have missing grout or lines are deep set, please ensure that tiles are re-grouted prior to refinishing, as we will not be responsible for filling obvious gaps, which can affect the look after refinishing.

Please note that if fiberglass shower pans with built-in non-slip flooring is not gently cleaned on a regular basis, the same blackish dirt can start to build up over the refinished coating. This is not covered under the warranty.

NO WARRANTY ON KITCHEN SINKS, DUE TO HEAVY, CLUNKY, AND SHARP TRAFFIC, BUT USE OF A RUBBER MAT WITH NO SUCTION CUPS OR METAL FEET WILL HELP PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE SINK. NO WARRANTY ON SURFACES WHERE CLIENT OPTED AGAINST HAVING PREVIOUSLY REFINISHED SURFACES STRIPPED, PRIOR TO NEW COATING BEING APPLIED. NO WARRANTY ON PEELING PAINT DUE TO OLD AND/OR MISSING GROUT BETWEEN TILES, OR STRUCTURAL MOVEMENT OF OLD GROUT. NO WARRANTY ON ISSUES CAUSED TO FINISH DUE TO WATER/LEAKS BENEATH OR BEHIND SURFACES BEING REFINISHED. RECOMMENDATION WOULD BE TO RE-GROUT PRIOR TO REFINISHING IF POSSIBLE OR TO HAVE WATER DRIED OR LEAKS REPAIRED FIRST.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: we recommend soft sponges (no abrasives) and mild cleansers only, such as Dawn liquid dish soap and a soft cloth, 409, Simple Green, water and a light vinegar mixture, or Fabuloso. Do not use Chlorox/Bleach, Ammonia, Acids, or Abrasives, such as Comet and Ajax, or any other product not recommended by Refinishing Rabbit. Also recommended is to rinse refinished surfaces, after each use, of any soap, so as to avoid soap scum buildup, and to wash the surfaces at least once every 2 weeks, to avoid the buildup of dirt, grime, and mildew.

For kitchen sinks please use a rubber mat with rubber feet (not metal or anything abrasive) in the bottom of the basin(s), to prolong the life of the finish.

For bathtubs or shower pans, please do not use a bath mat with suction cups or any mats that can scratch or otherwise damage the finish. If you need a non-slip surface, we recommend applying non-slip permanent stickers, as these do not get removed, and therefore will not lift up and damage the finish.
